Become Part of the Cure; Volunteer MS Today

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a collective of passionate individuals, moving together to create a world free of MS. On March 28th, we’ll be climbing to a cure at the New Jersey Metro Chapter’s first-ever Climb to the Top event! The success of this year’s Climb to the Top depends on volunteers like you! When you Volunteer MS, you become part of the cure. Together we will provide support, raise money, have fun, and make a difference in the lives of people living with MS.

Volunteer Opportunities

Climb to the Top is a vertical road-race; event participants climb 33 stories and 822 steps closer to a cure! Participants will climb at Mack-Cali’s Harborside Plaza 5 (185 Hudson Street) in Jersey City and come together for our after-party at Henry’s on the Hudson (34 Exchange Place). There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available for this unique event! Volunteer Teams

Did you know volunteers can join an existing team of Climb to the Top participants? Or that you can create your own volunteer team? Volunteering is a great opportunity for schools, clubs, organizations and any other groups to spend time together assisting at a great event. Gather up your friends and join the movement! 

Don't forget, as a volunteer, you're eligible for any of our amazing fundraising incentives available to our participants! When you register online, you may access your Participant Center and set a fundraising goal, update your personal page to share your story with others, email supporters and track your fundraising progress. Every dollar makes a difference in the lives of those living with MS!

Check-in Crew

Check-in volunteers have the pleasure of meeting, greeting and interacting with our event participants. Welcome participants to Climb, assist with registration, wave time corralling, coat check and general information. 

Cheer Crew

The life of the party, our Cheer Crew volunteers are responsible for keeping the event energy high! Volunteers will monitor stair action during the Climb, assist with kicking off each participant wave, and provide a cheer (or two or three) to our climbers!

Celebration Volunteers 

While we can’t launch a full-fledged party at the top of our Climb building, we will be hosting an after-party for all participants at Henry’s on the Hudson! Volunteers will assist with our celebration set-up, T-shirt and award distribution, and celebration clean-up.

Press

We’re looking to capture this exciting event and only the press will do! Photographers and videographers (regardless of your experience level!) are welcome to join us and capture the excitement at: the start line, on the stairs, at the finish line, and at our after-party. This is a great opportunity to add to your portfolio!

Medical Team

Safety first! To ensure the safety of our participants and volunteers, we are in need of EMTs, nurses and other medical personnel to volunteer at various points throughout the event. We welcome all licensed or certified professionals for this position.
